Fig Cream with Hazelnuts

This is my suggestion for a healthy “nutella”. I have been eating this fig cream on toasted rye bread in the morning with some extra pieces of banana. A perfect and healthy start of the day. I can imagine that it would go perfect with some pancakes as well. I actually love when my bananas get ripe, because they are a perfect sweetener in bread, cakes and in spreads like this.

Ingredients
  • 4.4 oz. dried figs
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1.7 oz. hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
Instructions
  1. Blend all ingredients together in a food processor.
  2. Pour the fig cream into a sterilized jar & lid.
  3. Keep the cream in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.

    Looks delish! Do you think this would work with fresh figs? If so, would I use the same quantity? Thanks!

      Hi Liz, Thanks! I haven’t tried it with fresh figs, so I can’t really say. However, I think it would be best to use the dried ones in order to make it sweet enough. Best, Julie
